Video: Andheri Bridge Accident: Bridge Collapses At Mumbai’s Andheri Station, Trains are closed
Andheri Bridge Accident: A part of a bridge caved in at Andheri station in Mumbai this morning following incessant rain, hitting train traffic.
The Gokhale bridge connects Andheri East and Andheri West stations and is used by thousands of commuters each day.

Firemen worked in the rain at the collapsed bridge, trying to see if anyone was trapped in the debris. Reports suggested a traffic jam in the area. (Andheri Bridge Accident) Overhead wires were also affected, said officials. Traffic at the bridge has been stopped. On the other hand, Central Railway has tweeted that, “Trains on Central Railway’s main, harbour and trans-harbour lines are running normally… Please don’t believe in rumours.”

Earlier Today: Rains lashed parts of Mumbai early on Tuesday after the late night showers on Monday. The office-goers are reportedly facing huge troubles in reaching to their destination due to the water-logged roads and streets following the rains in the city on Monday night. The low-lying areas of Parel-Dadar are reportedly water-logged. Reports also suggest a surge in the fares of Ola, Uber and other similar taxi services.
Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rain in the city in next 24 to 48 hours while forecasting rainfall throughout the week. The operations of the local trains on both Central and Western Railway have been disrupted due to the continuous Mumbai rains. Complaints of water-logging were also received from several low-lying areas yesterday. (Andheri Bridge Accident)
